Since 1969, the South End Community Health Center has been serving families and individuals in Boston’s South End neighborhood with high-quality, patient centered accessible healthcare. Originally a pediatric clinic, SECHC has grown to become a full service institution providing pediatrics, adult medicine, family medicine, obstetrics/gynecology, mental health, dental, eye care, and WIC (Women, Infants and Children) to over 15,000 patients who average 65,000 patient visits each year.

SECHC is culturally and linguistically accessible to community members (over 60% of the staff is bilingual/bicultural in Spanish/English) and continues to build upon deep community roots after 41 years, with an 80% community Board and strong community presence among staff. SECHC is a welcoming resource to all.

SECHC is widely recognized for its outstanding preventative care strategies, especially those aimed at children and families. As the community’s major point of entry for access to primary care, in fall 2011 SECHC will open a full service school based health center at the Blackstone School on Shawmut Avenue to serve the students.
